Baked sea-bream with fennel, lemons & olives

Just in time for Good Friday, this delicious and easy to make fish recipe that will add a touch of sophistication to your table.

I chose a farmed sea bream for this recipe, that it is very convenient and cheap, but it is good to know not to choose farmed fish too often as it contains a little more toxins compared to wild caught fish.

baked seabream with fennel and olives

Preparation time 5-8 min, cooking time 20/25

Ingredients (serves two)

  • a medium seabream ( cleaned)
  • 3-4 fennels
  • 10-12 black olives
  • half a lemon ( non treated)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • sea salt to taste

Wash the fennel and slice them up. Put them in an oven dish, add the olives, few slices of lemon and sprinkle some olive oil. Add the cleaned sea bream stuffed with some more fennel and lemon slices, and 2 garlic cloves, add to the oven dish and put in a heated up oven ( 200 degrees) Cook for 20-25 min according to the fish weight. Serve with a nice Italian salad on a side!
